Wireless LAN Status Overview

You can collect information on wireless LAN network APs and clients to check the current status or identify APs and client connections that are providing unnecessary services.

Note

  1. You can collect wireless LAN AP information by enabling the AP Information Collection Target setting in the Wireless LAN Control plugin.
  2. You can collect wireless LAN Client information by enabling the Wireless Connection History Collection setting in the Wireless LAN Control plugin.
  3. For plugin settings, please refer to Controlling WLAN.

Checking Wireless LAN AP Status

You can check the information collected from devices set as AP information collection targets via Wireless LAN Management > All Wireless LAN APs.

Item Description
Internal Indicates whether the collected AP is connected to the internal network.
Connected (Internal) Number of clients registered to the internal network using this AP.
Connected (Total) Total number of clients connected to the wireless LAN using this AP.
Status Displays the operational status of the AP.
SSID Displays the SSID (Service Set Identifier) transmitted by the AP.
MAC Displays the BSSID (Basic Service Set Identifier) of the service-providing AP.
Manufacturer Displays the AP manufacturer's name based on OUI.
Encryption Type Displays the encryption method used for wireless LAN connection.
Protocol Displays the IEEE 802.11 standard protocol used for wireless LAN access.
Channel Displays the channel used for the wireless LAN frequency.
Signal Strength (dBm) Displays the signal strength in dBm (log scale relative value).
Location Displays the name of the network sensor managing the network the AP is connected to.
Registration Time Displays the time when the AP was first registered.

Checking Wireless LAN Client Status

You can view information for collected wireless network connection clients via Wireless LAN Management > All Wireless LAN Clients (Windows OS only).

MAC Displays the MAC address of the wireless LAN interface.
NIC Vendor Displays the vendor information based on OUI (Organizationally Unique Identifier).
Connected AP Displays the access point for the wireless network connection.
IP Displays the IP assigned during the wireless network connection.
Status Displays the connection status of the wireless network.
Hostname Displays the hostname of the device.
Authenticated User Displays the authenticated NAC user name.
Department Name Displays the department of the authenticated NAC user.
Location Displays the network sensor managing the connected network.
Last Connection Date Displays the most recent time of connection to the wireless network.
Registration Time Displays the time when the wireless network connection information was first collected.
