Agent Basic Configuration

The Agent's basic installation and operations on endpoints are determined by the Agent's default policy. You can additionally configure agent settings per node. Refer to Agent Settings in Node Policy.

To configure Agent basic options, select PreFerences from the menu bar and then select General > Agent from the left menu.

Installation Path

Defines the location to install agent files. Default: %ProgramFiles%\Geni\Genian (Windows only)

User Confirmation Before Installation

Select whether to go through user confirmation before agent installation. (Windows only)

Selection: On or Off

Display Installation Progress

Select whether to display the agent installation progress. (Windows only)

Selection: On or Off

If On, select whether to display a message after agent installation is complete (On / Off). (Windows only)

Register Installation Information

Selection: Select whether to register agent installation information in "Add/Remove Programs" in the Control Panel (On / Off). (Windows only)

Agent Deletion Method

Selection: Select the method by which the agent can be deleted via the tray menu. (Windows only)

Use Authentication Code: Requires a deletion key obtained through 'Agent Authentication Code Issuance'.

Do Not Use Authentication Code: Users can delete the agent without a separate authentication process.

Not Supported: 'Agent deletion' via the menu is not supported.

Automatic Update Target

Select the target network for performing automatic agent updates.

Service Target Group

Set whether to display the "Check My Status" menu in the agent's tray menu, which allows checking one's status. (Windows and macOS only)

Web Browser

Selection: Select the web browser (Internet Explorer or direct input of browser path) that the agent will use to display web pages. (Windows only)

IE Web Browser Appearance: The agent can display web pages by minimizing Internet Explorer's toolbar and buttons. (Option: Standard / Compact)

IE Web Browser Size: Standard or Maximized

Agent Custom Icon

Upload a custom icon (ICO file) to be used for the agent's tray icon. (Windows only)

KeepAlive Transmission Cycle

Cycle Setting: Sets the cycle for transmitting KeepAlive packets (Minimum: 30 seconds - Maximum: 10 minutes)
If KeepAlive is not received for 5 times the transmission cycle (e.g., 2 minutes * 5 times = 10 minutes), the agent's operational status is detected as Down.

Power Saving Mode Restart Time

Time Setting: If the specified time elapses after entering power saving mode, the function that operates upon operating system start will be executed. (Minimum: 30 minutes - Maximum: 6 hours) (Windows and macOS only)

Policy Server SSL Certificate Installation

Option Selection: Select whether the agent installs the Policy Server's SSL certificate on the user's PC. (Windows and macOS only)

Deployment Options

Deployment File Verification Method: Sets the method to use for verifying integrity when distributing files using the File Distribution V2 plugin.

When the File Distribution V2 action policy is set for the first time, options are automatically configured and automatically saved to the user's PC when the agent renews the policy, and cannot be changed later. If a trusted ID or trusted public key is deleted or lost, changes can only be made through technical support from the manufacturer.

Use Multiple Distribution Servers: Select whether to attempt download from another sensor included in the same Proxy service target network group (System > System Management > Preferences) if file download fails.
