Checking Password Validation
Checks the validity of Windows account passwords and changes unverified passwords to secure ones. Strengthens endpoint security by enforcing password rules such as special character usage.
- Strengthens password security by enforcing compliance with administrator-defined password string rules.
- Enforces password changes periodically by setting password change cycles.
Adding Agent Action to Node Policy
- Go to Policy in the top menu.
- In the left Policy menu, go to Policy > Node Policy.
- In the Node Policy window, click the desired Node Policy ID.
- Find Node Action Settings and click the Assign button.
- In the Available items, find Password Validity Check and drag it to the Selected items.
- Click the Add button.
- Click the Modify button.
Password Validity Check Settings
- Go to Policy in the top menu.
- In the left Policy menu, go to Policy > Node Policy > Node Action.
- In the Node Action management window, find and click Password Validity Check.
- In the Option Settings, enter Condition Settings.
Configure the Action Execution Settings below.
- Display Verified Accounts: Set On/Off to choose whether to display verified accounts in the dialog box.
- Fix Verification Window: Fix the On/Off dialog box to the center of the screen.
- In Windows Logon Account, configure the following:
- Password String Check Method: Set to "Rule Check". (Password rules from "Settings > Preferences > User Authentication > Password Policy" will be applied.)
- Password Change Cycle: Set the password change cycle for Windows login accounts. (Hours - Months)
- Notification Before Expiration: Generates an alarm before the password expires. (Expiration time is applied from the moment the policy is applied.)
- Scan Exception ID: Enter the full string of the user ID for scan exceptions. (Separate multiple entries with commas, case-insensitive.)
- For Execution Cycle, adjust the cycle interval (Seconds - Months).
- Click the Modify button.
Confirm Password Validity Check Results
Note
When the policy is applied, a password verification window will pop up on the unverified endpoint, and the user will enter their Windows account password.
- Go to Management > Node in the top menu.
- In the Node List window, click the IP of the node with the agent installed.
- Scroll down to the System Information tab and check the results in the Account Password Verification Information section.
