Automatically Setting Appliance Preferences
When a Genian NAC appliance is first registered, the administrator must change its preferences. If multiple Network Sensors are to be registered, you can specify initial settings so that preferences are automatically applied when new appliances are registered.
- Go to System in the top panel.
- In the left System menu, select System Initial Settings > Preferences.
- Enter the setting values for preferences.
- Click the Update button.
Note
To change settings for individual appliances, proceed from System > Select Appliance IP > Preferences tab.
Security Settings
Allow Remote Access via SSH
Set two IPs that are allowed to access the CLI console via SSH. Typically, the administrator's endpoint IP is specified.
- In Security Settings, enter the IP Address for CLI Console Access IP (e.g., 192.168.1.10).
- Click Update.
Windows Update Proxy Settings
Configure the Network Sensor to download operating system update files. This feature operates only when a data disk is present on the Network Sensor; if there is no data disk, it will not function regardless of the settings.
- Find Operating System Update Proxy Service Settings, locate Usage, and select On from the dropdown.
- Select the Target Network Group to use the proxy service.
- Click Update.
SNMP Agent Settings
Set whether to collect the Network Sensor's system information externally. The information provided includes basic system info (name, description, uptime, etc.), interface information, and detailed system info (CPU, Memory, disk).
- Find SNMP Agent Settings and select On from the dropdown.
- Enter the following:
- Username
- Auth Password (SHA, minimum length – 8 characters)
- Priv Password data encryption (AES, minimum length – 8 characters)
- Click Update.
Resource Warning
Configure threshold monitoring for Network Sensor resources (data disk, memory, CPU, number of nodes). If resources are used beyond the threshold, an alarm can be sent to the administrator via audit logs.
- Find the Resource Warning settings screen.
- Enter the following:
- Data Disk Log generation if data disk exceeds this setting (Default is 90)
- Memory Log generation if memory exceeds this setting (Default is 90)
- CPU Log generation if CPU exceeds this setting (Default is 95)
- Click Update.
Date and Time
Set the timezone for the Network Sensor's operation. (Default is Asia, Seoul.)
- Find the Date and Time settings screen.
- In the timezone dropdown, select Country and then select the nearest City.`
- Click Update.
Other Settings
Configure the Network Sensor's debug log settings and the node's UP/DOWN status check method. For Network Sensors without a data disk, debug logs will always be saved to the Policy Server when enabled.
- Find the Other Settings screen.
- Select the Default Character Set from the dropdown.
- Click Update.
