Configuring AP Profile Details

You can configure detailed settings for the AP profile to be applied to Genian Air-Sentry Wireless Access Points.

AP Profile Configuration Items

AP profile settings are divided into two items as follows:

Item Description
Basic Settings You can configure the ID and Hidden AP (non-broadcast SSID) in the profile.
Security Settings You can configure security methods (Open, WEP, WPA/WPA2-Personal, WPA/WPA2-Enterprise) in the profile.

AP Profile Security Method Settings

The following four security methods can be configured:

Security Method Description Notes
Open Connection method to wireless networks without separate security settings. Not recommended for use due to lack of security settings.
WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) Wireless LAN connection method using 64/128bit security keys for wireless access. Not recommended for use due to vulnerabilities in obtaining security keys.
WPA/WPA2-Personal (Wi-Fi Protected Access) Wireless LAN connection method using AES (Advanced Encryption Standard), TKIP (Temporal Key Integrity Protocol) encryption/decryption.  
WPA/WPA2-Enterprise (Wi-Fi Protected Access) Wireless LAN connection method using an authentication mechanism that employs EAP (Extensible Authentication Protocol), used with 802.1X.
