Configuring AP Profile Details
You can configure Advanced for the AP profile to be applied to Genian Air-Sentry Wireless Access Points.
AP Profile Configuration Items
AP profile settings are divided into two items as follows:
| Item | Description |
|---|---|
| General | You can configure the ID and Hidden AP (non-broadcast SSID) in the profile. |
| Security Settings | You can configure security methods (Open, WEP, WPA/WPA2-Personal, WPA/WPA2-Enterprise) in the profile. |
AP Profile Security Method Settings
The following four security methods can be configured:
| Security Method | Description | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Open | Connection method to wireless networks without separate security settings. | Not recommended for use due to lack of security settings. |
| WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) | Wireless LAN connection method using 64/128bit security keys for wireless access. | Not recommended for use due to vulnerabilities in obtaining security keys. |
| WPA/WPA2-Personal (Wi-Fi Protected Access) | Wireless LAN connection method using AES (Advanced Encryption Standard), TKIP (Temporal Key Integrity Protocol) encryption/decryption. | |
| WPA/WPA2-Enterprise (Wi-Fi Protected Access) | Wireless LAN connection method using an authentication mechanism that employs EAP (Extensible Authentication Protocol), used with 802.1X. |
