Configuring Client Profile Details
You can configure detailed settings for the Client profile to be applied when using wireless networks on user endpoints.
Client Profile Configuration Items
Client profile settings are divided into two items as follows:
Item | Description |
---|---|
Basic Settings | You can configure ID, Hidden AP (non-broadcast SSID) connection / auto-connection items in the profile. |
Security Settings | You can configure security connection methods (Open, WEP, WPA/WPA2-Personal, WPA/WPA2-Enterprise, 802.1X) in the profile. |
Client Profile Security Connection Methods
The following five security methods can be configured:
Security Method | Description | Notes |
---|---|---|
Open | Connection method to wireless networks without separate security settings. | Not recommended for use due to lack of security settings. |
WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) | Wireless LAN connection method using 64/128bit security keys for wireless access. | Not recommended for use due to vulnerabilities in obtaining security keys. |
WPA/WPA2-Personal (Wi-Fi Protected Access) | Wireless LAN connection method using AES (Advanced Encryption Standard), TKIP (Temporal Key Integrity Protocol) encryption/decryption. | |
WPA/WPA2-Enterprise (Wi-Fi Protected Access) | Wireless LAN connection method using an authentication mechanism that employs EAP (Extensible Authentication Protocol). | |
802.1X (Port Based Network Access Control) | Connection method that performs port-based access control using an authentication mechanism that employs EAP (Extensible Authentication Protocol). | Usable for both wired and wireless. |
